As director of project management, Ushma Patel oversees projects within the Office of Communications and with campus partners, and she supervises the office's digital asset libraries. She enjoys the collaborative environment and combination of skills involved in the day-to-day work of telling Princeton’s story.
Her previous roles in the office were multimedia and projects editor, editorial strategist, social sciences writer and publications editorial associate. Prior to coming to Princeton in 2007, Ushma worked as a journalist at the Bucks County (Pa.) Courier Times and the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. She has also written for BusinessWeek, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and the Austin American-Statesman.
Ushma graduated magna cum laude from Emory University as an English and journalism major. Born in Arkansas and raised in Florida, she now resides in Pennsylvania with her husband. She loves country music, spicy food, vacations with far-flung family, biographical films and multigenerational fiction.
