As multimedia and projects editor, Ushma Patel oversees the office’s photography and video production; helps manage fee-based projects produced in collaboration with campus partners; and assists with planning and editing content for princeton.edu. Her previous roles in the office were editorial strategist, social sciences writer and publications editorial associate. She thoroughly enjoys the collaborative environment and mix of skills within the office that are involved in the day-to-day work of telling Princeton’s story.
Prior to coming to Princeton in 2007, Ushma worked as a journalist at the Bucks County (Pa.) Courier Times and the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. She has also written for BusinessWeek, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and the Austin American-Statesman.
Ushma graduated magna cum laude from Emory University as an English and journalism major. Born in Arkansas and raised in Florida, she now resides in Pennsylvania with her husband. She loves country music, spicy food, vacations with far-flung family, biographical films and multigenerational fiction.
