
Denise Valenti has written news, feature and research stories for the Office of Communications and the Princeton University homepage since 2017. A longtime journalist, Denise has contributed to numerous publications including The New York Times, Washington Post, USA Today magazines, Working Mother and Latina, where she served as a senior associate editor.
Education always has been one of Denise’s primary beats, and she made the transition to higher education communications providing editorial support for colleges and universities as a writer, editor and consultant. She is the recipient of a New Jersey Press Association First Place Award for Education Writing, as well as a Gold Award, Circle of Excellence, from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.
A graduate of Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, Denise holds a B.A. in history and newspaper journalism. She’s a hiker, bicyclist and avid iPhone photographer who enjoys documenting her walks and rides throughout New Jersey and beyond.
