Ayana Gibbs-Okoya is the University’s media relations specialist, supporting Princeton’s engagement with a wide range of audiences. Her focus is on cultivating relationships with campus partners and media regionally and nationally to surface stories that are both inspiring and informative.
A native of Trenton, NJ, Ayana’s experience ranges from civic engagement, public speaking, and content creation. She writes about self-efficacy, gratitude, and parenting for national publications. Ayana received her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Kean University, and her Master’s in Strategic Organizational Communication from Rutgers University.
Before Princeton, Ayana served as the senior marketing associate for Palladium, an international development firm. She founded Authentic Convos, a panel discussion series that fervently promotes face-to-face thought-provoking dialogue in urban communities, allowing attendees to gain insight from thought leaders.
